I believe the general answer is yes. The qualified yes answer will be for you to look at what you want in the template and make sure CR supports it. If you look under 'template' in the help file you will find a lot of information about creating templates and using template fields. That will help get you started on building templates and offer guidance on considerations in their design.

I hope this helps.

Simple way, create a report that you like, that has the elements that you want to be in every report, then save it to the same location as the rest of the templates.  Mine is located at: C:\Program Files\Business Objects\Crystal Reports 11.5\Templates\en

Then when you want to use the template, open a new report.  This is the most IMPORTANT part, before you do anything, click Report/Template Expert and select the report template that you want.  Now continue as before.

Why is this important?  Every time you load a template, it wipes the report back to what the template is, so if you had fields and groups placed, they are all gone, start again.  But, it makes life so much easier if you have alot that you use every report.  I don't, but it still makes things so much easier as I don't have to reformat each report for the minutae that is in every reoprt.

Hi again!
I'm preparing a "template" with 3 standard input parameters!
I'm able to do a template, to name it, but I don't get it why my 3 parameters are not saved in the tamplate.

Is this a CR restriction on templates, so parameters can not be used?

Not sure...I've only used templates to standardize the layouts...you know trying to be lazy and not constantly reinventing the wheel.

It could be that CR didn't think/doesn't want parameters to carry over, or it was only thinking of layouts with templates and just didn't bother to save them...I really don't know.
