    Posted: 18 Mar 2008 at 7:19am
Hello,

I am relatively new to CR, but have compiled a few reports so far. I've been bale to resolve most problems I've encountered myself, but this one is tough.

The data is taken from a CSV file which CR identifies no problem. One of the columns is "COMPONENT" where data is in the form x.x.x (ex. 4.1.7). I'd like it to stay that way. CR treats this data as a DateTime field, which I can understand, first digit - day, second - month, third-year. But that's not what I want!

So, I'm wondering if there is a way to change the type of field in this case?

I think I could work around this with some nifty formula (ex. DayPart function), but there has to be some setting that allows you to avoid the hustle.

Thank you.

Update:

I was able to resolve this issue by importing the CSV file into XLS format and building the report from there. This is not convinient though.
