My first attempt at using a excel as a source for a report. On of the columns contains numbers and text. In Crystal it brought that column in as a number and it is distorting my data. How can I change they type of field from number to a string?

I forget exactly how to do this, but if you look at the cell formatting properties, I think there is a way to force a column to be a string. If that doesn't work, temporarily overwrite the first few rows with string data. I'm guessing that CR probably just looks at the first few rows when deciding the columns data type. Then create the report from the new data and go back and change it later on once it appears to work.
