Hey Everyone,

I am having a bit of bother with creating a line chart in Crystal reports 10.

I a report created that shows me how many calls our support desk has processed each month depending on there call type.

I have done this by creating a group which shows calls for a speicifc date range dependant on there call type

e.g.

PC fault

record 1
record 2
record 3
record 4
record 5

Printer fault

record 1
record 2
record 3
record 4
record 5

I have then used a summary function to  break this down into months e.g.

Printer fault 01/01/09

recrod 1
record 2

Printer fault 01/02/09

record 3
record 4
record 5

I have then created another summary which counts the number of calls logged.

e.g.

Printer fault 01/01/09

recrod 1
record 2

Calls for this period 2

Printer fault 01/02/09

record 3
record 4
record 5

Calls for this period 3

I want to create a graph that will show me how many calls were logged during each month for the various call types.

E.g. printer fault and pc fault as series

and no of calls going on the y axis 1,10,20,30,40,50 etc...

and the date range  e.g. 01/01/09, 01/02/09, etc...

I am relitavley new to crystal and was wondering if this was possible with the way the report currently works.

Many thanks

Insert a chart in Report Header or Footer.
On Type Tab make it a Stacked Line Chart or Stackedf Line Chart with Markers (your asthetic choice).
Data Tab - Make it 'On Change Of" and add the Call Date field. Click on the order button and make it 'for each month'. Now add the call type field (e.g printer fault) as a secondary on change of field.
In the Show Values add any Field that is on all rows (like a Primary Kay field) and set it to COUNT.
Preview the report.
This will work independently of your report grouping so you can alter your row level display without imapcting the chart.
