Are you adding this as a SUM or an Average or what?

i want to show only recordnumber; to show the record number of each record.
for example:
slno       name         basic                earnings
                                                          1          2      etc
--------------------------------------------------------------------

1           a                  5000.00           500.00
2           b                   3000.00                    400.00
3           c                  4500.00            250.00  200.00
etc.....

What you are describing looks to be accomplished much more easily by avoiding a crosstab and just using grouping (and summing if necessary). You will have a much easier time with it and can just drop the record number field from special fields onto the canvas. Otherwise you may be out of luck unless you have an actual DB field.
