     Posted: 30 Jul 2009 at 8:45am
hi i am using cr bundled along with vs.net 2008 pro. and using vb
i have this prob that i have 2 details table
1. table contains 1 record and the 2nd detail tables containts say 3 records.
now what i have done is created 2 details section and put the details from the first table into that section and the details from the 2nd table into the 2nd detail section.

my prob. is that the details in the first second r repeating 3 times as the 2nd detail table contins 3 records for that particular consumer.

what i want is :
the 1st detail section should show only 1 record if there is only 1 record in it. (There can b multiple records)
and the 2nd details section should show only 3 record (as for this particular consumer there r 1 record in the 1st detail table and 3 records in the 2nd details table)

i hope i have explained myself.
pls. let me know if i am not clear so that i can try explaining again.
thankx a lot.

Adding detail sections (eg.g details B) has nothing to do with how many rows of data are coming into from your table sources.
Each detail section evaulates for a row of data from the source.
The problem is your join.
If possible one solution may be:
Join Main table to the detail 1 table (that has 1 row per item) and then join detail 1 table to detail 2 table (that has 3 rows per item to that table).
This will result in 3 rows per item in Mian table.
