Hi guys,
I am having a weird problem.
I m using Crystal Report 9.2

I have a report where I have used two field definition files.
let say TableA and TableB

Now i have a column LineNumber in both tables which i am using for the left outer join in links option of database expert.

So its like :
TableA.LineNumber --> TableB.LineNumber, the join type is left outer and i m using equi join as link type.

My problem is that when there is no record in TableB, my report does not loads and it is stuck loading forever, however if there are some records in the TableB then the report displays.

Also one more thing i have noted with various data set.
case 1: TableA has 2 rows and TableB has no rows, report displays.
case 2: TableA has more than 2 rows and TableB has no rows, report does not displays.
case 3: TableA has more than 2 rows and TableB has some rows, report displays.

any help with this is very much appreciated, i am very confused with this and need to work it out.

Edit 1: one idea i am getting that it might be internal optimization of crystal report and it is not even considering TableB when it has no rows, but it is mere speculation.

please check this

Join Type :  "Left Outer Join"
Enforce Join :  "Not Enforced"
Link Type :  "="

if you are not getting desired output using the above options, you can have try using SQL
Thanks

Join Type :  "Left Outer Join" -> checked
Enforce Join :  "Not Enforced" -> Not available in my version.
Link Type :  "=" -> checked

Also using SQL is not an option i think, as i am generating data dynamically through code and then setting this data in the crystal report.  So in this particular case i am setting data in two tables of the sub report.
