What does it mean when you preview a report and get no needles on a guage at all (nothing for zero or off the scale), but when browsing the data the values are right and what you wanted to see...?

Either the fields for the gauge aren't set properly, or the axis is off. Considering that you obviously know reporting, I doubt if you would make a simple mistake like that. Have you tried using the gauge on a simple report to make sure it isn't buggy?
