Hi everybody, I hope someone can help us out.
We use Crystal Enterprise (version 8.5) for publishing Crystal reports. The
reports are scheduled to be published in a folder in Outlook, mostly as pdf,
a few as Excel file. Most reports are running without any problem but some
reports return error : Error detected by database dll.
We can find no further information on this error. Data in all reports is
comming from BaanERP (Baan 5c with servicepack 22). We have the error since
we migrated Baan form HP UX to Windows and from DB Oracle to SQL. Crystal
Enterprise is running on a Virtual Machine.

What did we find so far?
When we first ran a report from the new Baan server the report took over 8
hours to complete (before less then 5 minutes). It turned out that the
locale setting of the Baan-user was causing this. The user had locale
ISO88591, after we changed this to locale ISO-8859-1 the report ran as
before.
A report that now returns the error runs with the same user (with locale
ISO-8859-1). When I change the locale back to ISO88591 the report runs but
takes again 8 hours.

Has anyone an idea what is causing the error and how we can solve this?

Thanks in advance for anything that heps us.

Extra information.

I found that the problems lies in Baan fields of the Data Type Double.
For instance, when field tdsls401.dqua is used in the report formula (tdsls401.dqua > 0) the report returns the error. When the field is not in the formula the report runs fine.
I checked all our reports and in all reports that have problems we have a double-field in the formula.

I never used Baan before. Hopefully this information can help out others who come across it. Thanks.

Archimedes once said "Eureka" after solving a problem.

                EUREKA

Just 1 checkbox in the Report Options should be unchecked: "Use Indexes or Server for Speed".

I think I earned my holiday now or (better) a salary raise. I will take this up with my manager.

Thanks to all who bothered to think about the problem described.
