Hi,

I have a crystal report with a column of data that is essentially of the format: 1234-5678-9101-12334

I want to group the report based on the first THREE digits in such a number. For example, If the numbers were:

1234-5678-901
1234-56839-123
1332-5678-910
1335-234-23423
 
The groups would be '123' and '133' (i.e. the grouping wouldn't take into account digits after the third digit.).
 
Do any of you know how to do this?

Hi
 
you can do that in your sql query also if you ok with that or else create crystal formula  Left(field,3) then group by that field .
