Hi,
I have report field 'category'. In this there are main category and sub categories. How can I summarize the report of the count of items based on the main category?

I will explain in the below example:

Soap\SoapA
   1
   2
   3
Soap\SoapB
   1
   2
   3
Soap\SoapC
   1
   2
   3

From this example, how can I get the group header as 'SOAPS' and the count is 9 (all the summary of items in the 3 categories)

Thanks for the support with a hint.

Hi,

Let me put your requirement in my words
You want to create a group called SOAPS(which includes all soap categerioes) and want to count all the items in that group??
If yes then,

create a formula as
If {Field_name} like "Soap\Soap*" Then "SOAPS" Else {Field_name}

create a group on this formula and write other formula to count all the items in that group
Count({Items},{@Formula})
Or you can use Insert > summary > Select aggregate Count function counting the items in that group.
