question :
table1.item linked to table2.item with left outer join
I have a select statement : table2.prbk = END
a formula : if isnull({table2.item}) then false else true
There is an item that has records in table2 but not with prbk = END
I want to see what comes back from the formula, but only items that have a record in table2 with prbk = END are displayed. there are no supresses.
why isn't the report showing all records from table1 ?

the select statement has turned the outer join to an inner join...as NULL is not End.
just as comment on the formula, and it takes a while to get your head around this, but you could shorten the formula to just:
not isnull({table2.item})
and you will get the same results...
take or leave it...I just try to type as little as possible.
