I have a report where I'm trying to compare waste between paper brands based on weight and vendor. My problem is some totals are inflated while others are correct. The 2 main tables are Prod Tran where I get my counts to figure waste and Material Tran where I get the Inventory Item.

My first group is: Work Center (Press)
My second group is: Basis Weight (ie: 30#, 50#, etc.)
Final group is: Mill Code (Vendor Name)

Output similar to:

Press #1
30#                       Gross        Net
American Eagle      74,905     72,500
Domtar                  12,100     10,900

50#
New Page              8,375        7,235

I can't find a reason why some of these are incorrect? I've tried Running Totals, Manual Running Totals using Variable and Summaries with the same results

are you suppressing records?
none of the processes you mention will exclude suppressed rows unless you make them them exlcude them by using conditions that are the same as the suppression conditions.

unsuppress your details and use your running totals that are placed on the detail. YOu will see the numbers adjsut row by row and you can see where it appears to jump incorrectly. Perhaps you formulatic groups are adding in duplicate rows that are the issue?
