so you are trying to get totals for the report, correct?
You will need one Running Total per footer
each running total will be the same except for the evaluate formula.
example.
name=1A_counter
Field to summarize =field you are grouping on
type=distinctcount
evaluate=use a formula
NOT(suppression formula for GF1a goes here)
reset = never
place this in the report footer (RTs will not work in a header)
repeat and just change each evaluation formula to be
NOT(suppression formula for each group footer)
