	I am trying to get a count of the number of P's from different fields. For Example I want to count number of candidates present from table(where P=present). I am not sure of the best way to achieve this. If someone could help, I would be greatly appreciative.

	Is the "P" a single character in a separate field or is it part of one of your data fields? If it's in a separate field, you could use something like this: If {table.PField} = 'P' then 1 else 0 If it's the first letter in a longer string, you could use this: If Left({table.PField}, 1) = 'P' then 1 else 0 For either of these, you would sum the formula to get your count. -Dell
