Hello,

I have an odd problem.  I have 2 running total fields.  The first has the following:

Field to Summarize ->  row_id
Type of Summary -> distinct count
Use Formula -> {S_SRV_REQ.SR_AREA} like '*' & 'Cost' & '*' or {S_SRV_REQ.SR_AREA} like '*' & 'Quality' & '*'
On Change of Group -> last_name

The second has the following:

Field to Summarize -> row_id
Type of Summary ->distinct count
Use Formula -> isnull({S_SRV_REQ.SR_AREA}) = true or
(not({S_SRV_REQ.SR_AREA} like '*' & 'Cost' & '*') or not({S_SRV_REQ.SR_AREA} like '*' & 'Quality' & '*'))
Reset -> Never

The first works perfectly.  The second parameters are not producing results.  I thought the second summary would be the exact opposite of the first.  Does anyone have any ideas?

Thank you.

You need
(not({S_SRV_REQ.SR_AREA} like '*' & 'Cost' & '*') AND not({S_SRV_REQ.SR_AREA} like '*' & 'Quality' & '*'))

to be the opposite of your first formula

you should use the prefix like not, some thing like this
(not({S_SRV_REQ.SR_AREA}..
