I have a report where a data field can be a couple of words or three pages of A4 text.

Is it possible to set the report so that each page varries in size from three A4 pages as one page, then just a couple of lines?

Any advice would be very much appriciated.

I don't believe so, as the page size is selected / determined at design time. 
 
How would you print 3 pages as one?
 
so a better question may be, what do you want to accomplish / how do you want to format the report?
 
if it is a matter of forcing page breaks and suppressing page headers that's a different story.
