Hello

Is it possible to make a database from a crystal report that renews hisself.

Because i want to make a report and for that i first made a report with a lot of selection to becom a value.
that value i want to use with other value's.
When i put everything in one reports its to big to work.

So i want to create a database from the first report and then use this in my second report.

You can export your first report as EXCEL DATA ONLY (providing your alignment of columns is OK)

Then, save this file on a network drive or Local drive.

you can then create a new connection within crystal reports, and instead of using a database as your datasource, use the ACESS/EXCEL option and use your excel file as your datasource.

Just make sure this file always stays in the same place and it will be fine.

You can also add rows into this file as you would a normal table.

Im guessing this is what you mean.

If not, and you want 1 report to be the source data for another report AT THE SAME TIME as running the reports (dynamic), then you need to look into subreports.

If you need the source data (first report) to change daily/weekly/monthly etc,
simply set up the first report, have it scheduled to be ran and dumped into an excel file in a folder on a drive, then do the same as above.

only problem with this is you will need to identify a way of automatically overwriting the file, so that the filename stays the same.
(the security promt of "Are you sure you want to overwrite this file" is the problem here)

That would be a good solution.

But i have to find a way to run the first report auto every night. so the values are as reliable as possible
