Hi,
 
Is there a way to show the sum on a report footer of the distint counts of a field in a group footer?
it breaks five tiimes showing discint counts then i want to totla them in the footer.

Distinct count makes me think of various things.

A little confusing with your post.

you could just have the distinct count in a running total, follow the key field for the detail and have it never reset. That should show the total over the full report.

sorry it is confusing..
I am groupng on a date
each group shows distinct clients for that day
then in the report footer I want to show the avg for the week
 
monday 10..(10 is the distinct count) each line below is a group footer
tuesday  5
wed       10
thurs      5
fri           10
 
footer.. avg of 8

Use a variable to do a running total, then do an average over the variable.

I am not sure if a running total field will work, but you can try that first.
