Hello,

Suddenly our scheduled reports from crystal reports is running 18hrs late or even 23 hrs late. We checked the time on the server and also checked to see if any other queries or reports are blocking the database but did not find any. We also checked the queries for these reports by running them directly on the database and they returned results in a few seconds. I am also able to get the report out in a few seconds in the crystal report developer.

Also some of the reports no longer run at the scheduled time and people have to go in and run it manually. Has anyone seen this sort of behavior? Please help as we have run out of ideas..

Thanks,
Vaish.

BusinessObjects Enterprise or Edge?  Crystal Reports Server? Crystal Enterprise?  What are you using to schedule your reports?  Which version?

Have you looked at the servers in the CMC to make sure everything is running correctly?

Crystal is a disk-hog and doesn't always clean up after itself very well so it eats up disk space.  On your server, do a search for "~*.rpt".  This is the filename format for Crystal temp files.  Delete ALL of them that are not dated the current day.

How long has it been since youre server has been rebooted?  Some versions have known memory leaks and you have to either stop all of the services and restart them on a regular basis or you have to reboot the server.

Thanks. We actually did exactly that this morning (stopped services and restart) and that fixed it. I also found the server option earlier today under CMC which I was not aware of. I will do the cleanup some time. Thanks again for your help!
