Topic: Long string in database fields - cut on right edge Posted: 09 Dec 2010 at 11:01pm
Hello everybody,
I have a long text (String) in a DB column and put it in the database field with 'Can Grow' (to infty).
The problem is that no matter, what width of the field I set in CR design view, always some lines are cut on the right edge so that there miss sometimes complete letters.
I could not find any property in 'Format field' which can help me to set some 'internal border'/margin.
Have you ever rendered in CR long (hence multiline in report) Strings?
Please help me.

the only thing that comes to mind, if the built in function is not working as desired, is to create a formula that inserts crlf chars every X number of characters, or you could get fancier and try to parse at the complete word.
