Hi,

As i am new to CR can any one suggest on my requirement. Below is mentioned.

Level – If a user chooses ALL for processing group, they will then have the option to choose whether they want the report to be broken down at a Manager Level or not.  (please refer to report #1 for Manager Level and report #1a for non Manager Level)

As mentioned above at runtime of report if i choose option ALL for parameter Processing_Group then it should display another box and ask for whether the report to be broken down to manager level. If it is s tn it should ask input for Manager otherwise not.

not that I am aware of.  CR's parameter page is kind of hard coded...

on second thought, and I don't know how well this would work...if you created a command object so that it would cascade based on the first choice (the ALL)...you could have 2 tables and link them in such a way that result is what you want, and then you filter your data/format your report based on the outcome.

ok, create a command object...how you select a table, but at the top is command, this is a sql input.  select the word all with an id of some sort, select t the items from a table or however you were getting them for the first prompt, again with an id of some sort.  create another command object that would 'bind' (use the id from the first command) to distinguish choices from the second object, then you can use the cascading parameter page to prompt for the answer that you seek.

something like:
first command object

a, all
m, manager item 1
m, manager item 2
m, manager item 3
n, non-manager 1
n, non-manager 2
n, non-manager 3

second command
a, manager
a, non-manager
m, manager
n, non-manager

if you link the first column from each table, the user will have a choice for all, but not for the others, as there is only 1 choice.

Hi,

I got ur point but i cannot implement this. I will explain clearly my requirement.

the input is of 6 parameters Region,Manager,Accountant,Client,Account.

All should be present . The client may input any one of the value for all these parameters.

Now my requirement is when user is input data, say first for Region then he is having option either to give value or select null.If he select null , they will then have the option to choose whether they want the report to be broken down at a Manager Level or not.  If yes means Manager input button should be enabled and user can enter data other wise if he select  no means button should be in disable mode only.

When procedure is connected to CR defaultly the parametrers list in Field Explorer is displaying all the parameters in enable mode during runtime.
Is there any option to do like above in CR.

your requirements are basically making your request undoable in a systematic managed way.  The parameter screen in CR is very limited as you well know.
