Is there a way I can reference a field value in a report1 in report2? I also need to reference the report2 field value in report 3.
Report 3 is the main report.
This problem is similar to referencing in Excel where you have multiple sheets per excel file.
And then you reference one filed in one sheet with another field in another sheet.
Does Opendocument help me solve this problem? I do not know how I can use opendocument

Thanks in advance

You can't reference a field directly. However, you can create a formula and in that formula have a Shared variable and assign the field's value to that variable. This Shared variable can be used between a main report and the subreports that it displays.

Just to be very clear, you are talking about subreports, right?  You aren't trying to reference a field in an unconnected report?  Because, from the description in your question, it sound like you want report1 to go open report2 and look inside it.  Which, in Excel, is like referencing a cell in another workbook altogether, not just another sheet in the same workbook.

If you are using subreports, then ignore this, and just use Brian's reply.  Smile
