Topic: How to handle optional parameter

Hi i have four parameter which are following
Name
FatherName
BatchNo
City
These are optional parameter
Now if user enter one parameter then search by one parameter
if user enter more than one parameter then search the record by two give parameter using and operator
for example if user enter Name and City
then search by Name And City only
if user enter City and BatchNo then
search by City and BatchNo only
please guide me how can i do it.
