Using the compiled reports feature to distribute reports has many limitations and will be phased out in the future.
Instead we recommend users migrate to advanced report distribution tools like web component server in Seagate Crystal reports. Other tools are also available in the Seagate Analysis and Seagate info products

The ability to compile reports so that they could be run by someone who does not have Crystal went away with Crystal 9. It will only work in v8.5 and below.
The references to "Seagate" in the error refer to the former owner of Crystal Reports. Business Objects now owns the software.
So, you'll need to look at building either a website or an application (.NET is easiest, but there is an SDK for Java as well) that you can use to deliver your reports to your users.

You say that you are getting that error message, but you aren't saying whether the report is doing what you want. If you are using v8.5 and it is doing what you want, then you can stay with v8.5 and continue using compiled reports. However, if you upgrade to the next version (v2008), then compiled report will no longer be possible. As Dell says, you'll have to rebuild it in .NET or Java.
