You are not entirely clear what you are trying to accomplish. Got the sub-report part which should already have a data connection (FYI: you can save the sub-report as a stand alone report). But either way you will need sort of Crystal Report reporting engine (viewer, designer, SAP BI) to run/view the report.

Are you asking how to write a SQL query to return two sets of results in SSMS? There are a couple of ways to do that, but you might be better off asking in a SQL forum.
