Hi

I used Box Line to draw table with 4 columns. At all cases only any 3 columns will have data. How to supress the unnecessary column...?

Supress column option is available only in cross tab.But that will not be suitable in this case.

Help me in this.

Regards.,
Sethu

The short answer is, you can't.  Crystal is not designed to shift items horizontally, so you can't suppress a column.

There are two possibilities.  If you look at the Size and Position option for your text boxes, you will note that you can apply a condition to the X value.  So, you can control the horizontal placement based on whether or not the field is empty.  However, note that you have to check the value of every column to the left, in order to collapse all the columns correctly.  This will be tricky (and tedious) to code correctly.

The other option is to create multiple details sections, one for each possible configuration of columns.  Then, just suppress any section except the configuration you want.  However, this will create an issue for you, as it may be tricky to keep the gridlines lined up properly, especially if your columns are of different sizes.

hi
there is one more option. create formula for horizontal lines. for all the 4 columns. based on the columns data, u will be able to supress or show the formula i.e lines. or even change the colour accrodingly to your background color so that it will be not shown.

I don't wheter this is a correct method, but it will solve your problem.

Also there would be a problem for vertical lines?
Thanks
