     Posted: 20 Nov 2014 at 4:52am
Hello basically i am using 3 commands where each command has an external join to each other on the Event_id.
I am bringin in the count of event_id from the command 3 into the report.
My question is i have two parameters on the report clientcode and group which are strings.

Group is a varchar field in the database
 For Example the data for Group is like this 011340

so when i enter the prompts do i need to give the quotations around it like '011340'  or just 011340??

Also do i need to change my filter condition that i have right now as

{Command.BRANCH_GROUP_CODE} = {?group}

to something like

Cstr( {?group}) = {Command.BRANCH_GROUP_CODE}

?

Thank you. Appreciate it

I don't think so. CR is smart enough to pass varchar parameters with quotes, and same for the comparison, it understands what they should look like.

Thanks for the response.
One more question if i have to backfill the data for all the months, so i am creating subreport for each month i.e.
Jan till Dec

Jan   count(event_id) for that month
Feb  count(event_id) for that month
Mar  count(event_id) for that month
Apr  count(event_id) for that month
MAy  count(event_id) for that month
June  count(event_id) for that month
July  count(event_id) for that month
Aug  count(event_id) for that month
sep  count(event_id) for that month
oct   count(event_id) for that month
Nov   count(event_id) for that month
Dec   count(event_id) for that month

So when linking the main report  with all the subreports shall i need to link each month subreport or just leave all of them non linked? Because   i dont want the same clientcode and group parameters repeating  12 times when the client runs the report.

Any advice?
