Hi,

We put batch barcode label on each product box. Currently i am showing the batch no along with products details on the label but now we want to show how many pieces in the box from each batch (quantity is not unique).

For example: Batch B1 contains 146 pieces to pack this pieces we use box A and the pieces per box is 50. If i divide batch pieces with box quantity it will come 2.92 which means 3 boxes (last box is not full).

So when i print the label the preview must come with 3 labels showing pieces in each box.

1st label (Box 1) = B1 - 50;
2nd label (Box 2) = B1 - 50;
3rd label (Box 3) = B1 - 46;

Actually our intention is to known how many pieces from the batch inside the box. From above example i can put another 4 pieces from another batch in the 3rd box and put another sticker on 3rd box.

Please advise.

Thank you.

It sounds like you need some form of Running Total. If you want to group by Box number then you can create a 'Specified Order' Group and put the names of the boxes and the criteria required in there.

hope that helps

I am not a running totals person, I like shared variables instead, but they do about the same thing.

What you are asking for, isn't that hard to do...I think.

Actually, I think it would be easiest in a stored procedure, since CR will not make up rows of data...

Say you data is batch B1 has 146 items...and that is the entire row of data...CR can't break it into more than 1 line, so that is one problem.

the other that I see, is if different items have different counts per box.

both of these issues lead me to lean more towards a stored procedure as it can easily create rows and perform more complex logic than CR can handle...

then all that CR is doing is displaying a label.

I realize that this solution may not be a viable option for everyone.
