Afternoon all,

I currently have a report setup with a number of subreports (mainly showing graphs for different aspects of the environment); all of which have a specified period to report (LastFullMonth).

Would it work/be more practical to remove the individual Date_Time conditions and manage it all through the master report 'Select Expert' tool?

Hopefully that makes sense...

no, it doesn't, and here's why.
a subreport goes out to the database and pulls its own dataset, it doesn't 'inherit' the dataset from the main report, so each subreport is managing its own data and would need the date to correct select the data to display.

Here's the proviso...
if you are pushing the data to the report, then you would only need to have the date in the subreport so that it could filter the data

Either way, the subreport is going to need a date so that it can correct filter the data to display.

Hopefully this makes sense as well.

Hi Lockwelle,

that does make sense, thank you. The only reason I ask is because I am doing multiple environment reports using 1 standard report.

The problem with that being when I make an adjustment I am going to have to amend each manually...

Thanks for replying :-)
