Topic: Sub Report Suppression Posted: 19 Aug 2013 at 2:21am |
|
Hi there, I have created a sub report and placed it in a group footer (I have 3 group footers). The sub report runs when a number of conditions is met which is fine, this means the subreport will be displayed on a seperate page. My problem is when the conditions aren't met the report fires up a blank page after the initial report. Have used all the obvious options regarding the suppression of the report and not finding any solution. Was hoping some good give any advice an shine some light on it for me.
Cheers

Hi
Right click on the sub report and go in Format Sub report-- Common tab--Remove / uncheck 'Keep Object Together' option and check your report

Thanks,

Hi Sastry, Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately, I have tried that it still shows the blank page. Any other suggestions?

Hi
There could be an issue with either
--Keep Group Together --In change group option.
or
--Keep together -- in Section Expert
or Do you see any new page before or after condition in that group ?

Thanks,

Looked at all those options and they are all unchecked. Still getting the same blank page after it :(

1. is this report just 2 pages or do you get this extra page after every grouping (or only a final page)?
2. Are you using any formula for your nwepage before or after or suppression of sections?

Hi DB, Basically the report is a quote. So the main report is just your basic quote but the subreport is like a savings calculator of how much you would save when buying certain products. If none of the certain products are on the quote then the calculator will not appear. I get an extra page after the 1 grouping, as i have them as GF1a, GF1b and GF1c.
Using no formula for the newpage or after. Was using a formula for the suppressing records but that came back with mixed results. Any suggestions?
Cheers

I have suppressed sections on the subreport, as I have images and text fields on it. So when its previewed, it just shows as a blank page. Would it be possible to use a unique identifier or shared variable to suppress it if it was blank?
