I need to make sure that the records in my report have a single space ' between them. It looks like I have more . How can I fix that

Hi Sharon,

You are saying vertically(Gap between rows) or Horizontally(Gap between database columns)?
If it is rows, then check whether all the fileds are alligned correctly.
If it is Columns, then adjust the fields gap.
 
If you still having problem, attache screenshot to this thread..
