Got two stored procedures that have slight difference with all the fields being the same. How to change my report to point to the other without redo most of the work?. Like to keep everything intact but just change the name of the stored procedure used. usually in this process all fields get removed and has to redo most work.Crystal Report 9.

Choose the menu option Set Datasource and select the new stored procedure. Then click the replace to swap them out. This way the report doesn't have to change at all.

in "set datasource location", in the "current source location" i chose the stored procedure1 and in "replace with" window i chose the stored procedure2 and clicked on Update. that in the "current datasource location" window only changed the Table Name under the properties of the stored procedure1 to the stored procedure2. It did not replace the stored procedure1 naming itself. so, only its properties changed. Also, it failed to save.

Well, in an odd quirk, Crystal will not actually change the way it refers to the datasource internally.  So, all of your formulas will still look like they are pointing to {StoredProc1.MyData}.  However, it really is using the other procedure to actually retrieve the data.  It's confusing, but that's the way it works.

What do you mean by "it failed to save"?
