Is it possible to control the number of copies a report will print with a parameter.  I have a report that is a label and there are times that i want to print more than 1 label.  I would like to put the label qty as a parameter so that if i want 3 labels i don't have to run the report 3 times.  Is this possible?

Thanks is advance.

create a table with one row per value that you might want to print and then cross join it with your data set and use the your paramter against that the number field from this new table.

Why do i need to join another table?  Can't i create a parameter called '?ReportCopies' and use that somehow?  I just don't know where to use it?  If i do have to join a table where do i use that linked value to control the copies?

I apologize if i am missing somthing simple.

Thanks in advance.

joining a table creates multiple rows of your data set which would be how you would make multiple copies. No parameter will create new data (rows) or go back through your data a set number of times.

You can conceivably do this with sub reports and suppression but people ususally go the route I suggested.

if you create a table with one numeric field and have each row one incremental number (e.g.1,2,3,4) then add it to the report without a join (cross join) then it will make a row (label) per row (which equates to per number) value in the table.
Then use your param to limit the number of rows it returns.
{?ReportCopies}<=table.numberfield

I am using Crystal 10.

What is a "Cross Join"? I have the options "Inner join" and "Left Outer Join".

"if you create a table with one numeric field and have each row one incremental number (e.g.1,2,3,4) then add it to the report without a join (cross join) then it will make a row (label) per row (which equates to per number) value in the table.
Then use your param to limit the number of rows it returns.
{?ReportCopies}<=table.numberfield"

Where do you add this expression? In the Details suppression window?
