Hi
I appreciate the help of this forum in my computng life! thanks a lot for all supporters.

I have a report where i need to get items from 2 different tables with a common criteria. I will explain with the below example:

Table1: Asset list (contains Assetname, Serial Number, Owner)
Table2: Service list (ServiceName, Serial Number, Owner)

I want to generate a report with all product names, service names, Serial numbers under an owner. The owner name is same in both tables. The report output should  like this:

Owner: John Smith
Product                       Serial
================================
Asset Name1                1234
Service name1              3233
Service Name2              3232
Asset Name2                3235
etcc..

I can choose the report expert parameter as Owner. Please help how to design this to display the details one by one down from different tables.

Thanks again

Hi,

In Database expert > Links tab, link the Table1 Owner field with Table2 Owner.
Create a group based on Owner number and place the Product and serial number.

Actually, you'll want to make the from the Asset list to the Service list a left outer join (right-click on the join line and go to Link Options to do this.)  This way you'll get all of the assets, whether they have services or not.  It also looks like you'll then also add a sort on Serial number to get the data in the same order as your example.
