I have a crystal reports that reads about 9 million records and generate a 3800 page excel output. at the end it started displaying japanese and chinese characters and data is all messed up. any idea why this might be happening? is it any crystal limitations in reading data?
I don't think any limitation with the data extraction.
Try to limit your data to 1 million using record selection formula or insert a condition in where clause in your SQL and see still you are getting these characters.
If you are getting these characters in any specific field then check the field font.
