Sorry fairly dumb question
{IDENTIFIER_TYPE.Code} in {@clint_ident}
where {@clint_ident} = "28" or "29" or "30" or "14"

is {@clint_ident} a string or an array? how does {@clint_ident} get set?

Hi
I don't think you need IN operator here, because, your {@clint_ident} will pick only one value at any point of time.
It is checking with 'OR' so, once any condition satisfy it will not look at other values.
you can very well use IN operator in formulas like
{IDENTIFIER_TYPE.Code} in {@clint_ident}
