Hello,

I had a report that used to work in an older version of Crystal Reports but no no longer works in the new version.

Essentially we had a field that used to be dependent on the date control to come up but now people need to enter that information in manually.

What happened and what can we do to get the Date Control to pop-up back on the field?

Thanks.

did you upgrade to a newer 64bit OS and not continue using ODBC32 bit connections?

That's a possibility; we did upgrade to a 64-bit OS and changed the connectivity information. We are using the SQL Native Client as the driver to connect.

Should it be something different?

Crystal will only work with 32-bit data sources. So, even though you're using 64-bit Windows, you need to install the 32-bit database drivers for SQL Server. Also, if you're using an ODBC connection, it needs to be set up using the 32-bit ODBC Administrator. To get to this, run the following:

C:\Windows\SysWOW64\odbcad32.exe

-Dell

side note - the admin tools ODBC is the 64bit version, you have to go and create a shortcut to this version on your desktop

OK, I did this, and it initially worked. But somehow after a few minutes of using the system it reverted back to the old way of doing things.

Here is what I want in the image below:

So, as you can see I can pick one or more of the fields I want and then move them over to the right hand side.

Here is what ends up happening after a while (what I DON'T want):

Now, as you can see, people have to type in the data in the fields, in the right format, and move it to the right.

What can I do to replicate the first image within Infoview and future iterations of the report?

Thank you for your time.

Any ideas on this? I realize I am thread bumping but I am wondering if anyone has some new insight on this.

Thanks.

To be honest I had installation issues originally after we upgraded our PCs to Windows 7; however, while they were similar to yours, the PC left my hands and they did a complete reinstall of my OS to resolve the issue once and for all.

Since I tried using the 64 bit ODBC connections first it never worked correctly; so after the reinstall I setup the ODBC settings and the issues went away.

I was hoping someone had some insight, because I didn't want to through a solution of 'reinstall', but that is kind of what happened in my situation.

Thanks; I tried that (switching the ODBC connections to use 32-bit instead of 64-bit versions) but it didn't work out.

So weird. Anyone else tried something different?

Thanks.
