Whenever using a Crystal Report, it is placed in the same directory on the hard drive (E) as the rest of the files during development. However, when the project/solution is deployed I get the msg about signing in. Upon further investigation, the report shows it is looking for the report on the E:\ drive.

What needs to be changed to get the report and the deployed solution synced so that it reads the report from the db on c:\program files (86)\{deployed drive}?

Thankx.

You probably just need to change the Data Connection. Hit the Set Data Connection and follow the prompts.

Since each version of Crystal is slightly different I can't give you any more detailed directions without knowing which version you're using.

cr2008. What you are saying is that if there are many reports - say 50 to 100, then they all have to be changed before deployment? Shocked

I would give rpt Inspector a look. I've heard that they were having issues with Windows 7, but I don't know for sure.  Their program would allow you to update all the reports at 1 time.

It doesnt work well Lock, especially if you used sql commands and fully pathed your database names.

since we 'push' all our data to the report, the report connection is pretty trivial...and all of our data comes from store procs, so in a way, our reports are fairly simple in that regard.

I'm using MS Access and no stored procedures. Should the report connection just have the db name to eliminate the problem?

Thankx.
