Dear all,

I passed a shared variable from a subreport to my main report and it worked perfectly. I am however, having difficulty creating a running total for the column with the shared variable since i cannot view it(shared variable) in the running total available fields.

Its worth mentioning that my sub report and main report have different parameters. My sub report generates values from a single project and my main report generates similar values from multiple projects grouped by the project number. The link between both reports is the project number.

is there another way to sum up values in a column besides using running totals? Is it possible to sum up all visible values from a certain section?

Thanks in advance for your advice.

regards,

CB

your case I would stick with store procedures or maybe try sql expressions.

create a subselect to sum

(select sum(field) from table where
value = project number from sum report)

create in the main report, should work.

if you send me some code, I could probably write it up pretty quick.
