Dear Crystal Gurus,

I am Crystal Reports beginner so if my question seems too easy to post here, please excuse me.

I created a project income/expenditure account for all projects. All project transactions are recorded in our project journal on a transactional basis so the report groups all income and expenditure transactions by project number. The tricky part is, i would like to be able to select between active/inactive/all projects within a certain period. i therefore  created a new parameter/Flag to cater to the active/inactive/all function.

As the condition for a project to be active/inactive is formula based, i created a subreport for each case and supressed the respective group footer sections based on which flag is selected (my subreports are in the group footer sections).

Whenever i preview the subreports, the records displayed are correct. If however, i preview the whole report, crystal duplicates the entries from the subreports. If the subreport should display 4 entries, then 16 entries will be displayed. If it should display 12, then 144 will be displayed.

Since the main report and the subreports have the same parameters, i used the parameters (excluding the flag) to link the subreports to the main reports.

Can anyone assist me in removing the duplicate entries?

Many thanks in advance.

Crystal beginner.

What group footer are they in?  Do you want them to appear once on the report or is there a separate one for each group?

If you just want them once on the report, put them in the Report Footer.

I have three group footers, two of which have subreports and each respond to the flag as follows:

Group footer 1: Flag = 'All' - Not a subreport
Group footer 2: Flag = 'Active' - Subreport
Group footer 3: Flag = 'Inactive' - Subreport

My report footer has the totals in it. I will proceed as suggested and let you know.

Thanks! rgs, CB

It works! My totals now have a problem since i have figures from a different sections (group footer and report footer).

I guess for the running total fields, i could use a formula to correct this.

Thanks alot!
