My report has 4 variables that are prompted at run time. I'd like to post-process the variables to normalize the input to our business criteria (nothing fancy, just a bit of math).

How can I attach a function or event handler to the prompt dialog that Crystal shows at run time?

I would either transform the variables using a formula in the report, or transform them in the stored proc, since all you seem to be doing is some conversion on what the user entered so that it matches the data.

I haven't looked, but I don't think that CR allows you to alter the values once entered on the input screen.

Of course the other alternative is to build your own input screens, then you can do what you want before setting the variables in the report for CR to process.

and you can take this one step further, where you build the input screens, transform the values, get the data, and push the data to the report, cutting CR's role down to just displaying the data (which is what we do at my company).

While it is not a direct answer, it is a path to follow.

Hi

There is no function or procedure is availbel to modify the input parameters at run time.

Only option is to create a stored procedure or add command and accept all parameters and modify the values according to your logic and supply to database.

Thanks,
