Hi,
 
I have a shared variable on a main report from a sub. I want to use the shared variable in running total put it is not given as an option.
 
Any Ideas?

I think you are trying through Field Explorer --Running total, try to create a manual running totals like ;
 
Whileprintingrecords;
Numbervar x;
shared numbervar y;
x:=x+y;
 
This will allow you to add your shared variable value to a manual running total variable
