I have a large number of reports that were designed using a database table as the primary table. I need to change this to a view that has the same columns. The only way I can find to do this is to remove the table, add the view and then add the fields back to the report. That is bad enough but then crystal decides to use one of the other tables in the report as the primary table doing outer joins to the new view resulting in horrid performance. How can I tell crystal that this view is the primary table?

Thanks. That works great for the reports I'm about to change.
Is there any way to reset what Crystal considers the primary table for reports that were incorrectly modified in the past?

Not sure.
You could try and clear your links (leaving the tables) and then start fresh adding/reconstructing the links as you desired (from=primary).

The default Option setting for Automatic Smart Linking is ON.
We always have that switched OFF as Crystal does have funny ideas about linking tables. Smile
Check File/Options/Database to see how yours is set.

Clearing the links worked with smart linking on or off.
Thanks all
