yes i had the same problem
i solved it by not using a cross tab and
creating the whole report manually using
text boxes and formulas it was a solution for me only
because i didnt have too many fields in my report so
i just created a formula for each of them and placed them next to appropriate  text box (with column/row name)

should be able to use a formula..
could assign a variable... then use isnull function..   if the function is set to true then assign the variable 0.00

if there was a null value there wouldn't be a problem
crystal reports cant alter the database therefor
you cant assign the variable to something that is not there.

Well if this is the case:

  01-Jan 02-Jan 03-Jan
A   0.00   1.00   0.00
B   2.00   0.00   3.00

where 0.00 are blank values in your record, it is actually showing since there are other values on different date and description (A, B).

Did you tested it on a specific date that has blank values?

I was able to do a simple solution on the column part (date):

1. Insert a column.

2. Right click on Cross-Tab and select Advanced Calculations > Calculated Member.

3. Select the last Calculated Member.

4. Edit Header Formula with the following code (Crystal Syntax):
ToText(DateAdd("d", CurrentColumnIndex, {?StartDate}), "dd MMM yyyy")

5. Edit Insertion Formula with the following code (Crystal Syntax):
DateAdd("d", CurrentColumnIndex, {?StartDate}) <> GridLabelAt("Table.Date", CurrentColumnIndex)

6. Make sure that any column Calculated Member is above all other row Calculated Member in the Calculated Member list box.

7. Click OK button.

But there are still problems with this solution:

1. It can only display up to the last date that has value.

Example: Your date range is 01-Jan to 31-Jan and you only have data up to 15-Jan, only data for 01-Jan to 15-Jan will be displayed.

2. It can only display one missing column.

Example: Your date range is 01-Jan to 05-Jan and:

a. you don't have data on 03-Jan, the data will be displayed normal:
01-Jan  02-Jan  03-Jan  04-Jan  05-Jan
  1.00    2.00    0.00    4.00    5.00

b. you don't have data on 02-Jan and 03-Jan, the data will be displayed as follows:
01-Jan  02-Jan  04-Jan  04-Jan  05-Jan
  1.00    0.00    4.00    0.00    5.00

Help, anybody?

Hello,
thank you for the detailed response, my problem is that the function GridLabelAt requires grid group name (for example "Table.Date") but when I try to provide the group name it doesn't recognize it, how can I know for sure what's the group name? the group in my grid is year view on document date (2010,2011,2012)..
Thanks,
Assaf
