Hi,

My report is about employees. Employees have an age and lastname (simplified).

The employee list is grouped by department. Now i have bind sort controls on employee age and lastname.

If i use these sort controls the fields are only sorted within the groups. Is there anyway to have the whole list of employees sorted alphabetically on last name, thus with no respect to the group sorting of department?

I could of course remove the grouping but then there is no left side navigation... since i have up to 500 departments (yes this was the simplified explanation) i would like the end user of my report to able to use the index pane.

THanks for any help!
jorrit

if you use a group that is always the first level of sorting. Logically what you are asking for is not possible. Even if you could keep 'programs' in the left pane it won't help with navigating because it would reference employees that a re strewn throughout the entire list so it is not really of any navigational value.
