Hello,
I am having trouble supressing the group header. The Group header needs to be supressed if the total amount amt< 500 and GPA< 2.5. Right now I have a formula but it is doing 2 things; 1) supressing the first header which does not come under the criteria. 2) not supressing the header when there is not data to show.
Example:
course name is my group header and the values are student name, grades etc. If the student do not fulfill the requirement I don't need to see the course name and all the values associated.

Directly from database. didn't have to do any manipulation. all the records are supressed but the group header is not getting supressed.
it is showing like this:
Biochemistry:
name GPA AMT
xxx 3.0 666.00
Math:
blank blank blank
when the data is not meeting the criteria, i need to supress the group header(Math) too which I am not being able to.

ahhh, I think you want to suppress the header when each row meets these 2 condtions, not the aggregate data at the group level.
here is one way.
Make a flag fomrual to flag a row that is not going to be suppressed...
if table.amt< 500 and table.GPA< 2.5 then 0 else 1
sum the flag fomrula at the grou level
SUM(@flag,course)
Now in any group that has at least one row that is not suppressed your Summary is >0 so you can use that as your suppression criteria on the group header
