Ok, so I have made a report with parameters of date and time so that we can see what our sales were in between the sets of dates given. In this report, we are also showing "Quantity of Items Shipped" and "Total Extended Price". My problem, is that the Qty Shipped and Total Ext Price isn't following the parameters of the date and time...

How would I go about fixing this so that they properly pull from the dates given?

Thanks!!!

What did you put in your select expert?
How are those two pieces of data related to your sales date data? Are they in different tables? Did you join those tables correctly?

{invoice_hdr.invoice_date} in {?BegInvDate} to {?EndInvDate}

Is what I have in Select Expert -- Group

Basically, what I'm trying to do is have my Grand Total pull from the Date Parameters given, rather than it pulling from day one of the first recorded sale...which is where I apparently am doing something wrong.

To clarify what I am "trying" to do.

sum({invoice_line.qty_shipped} in {?BegInvDate} to {?EndInvDate})

I am trying to get my details section to sum up the total quantity shipped within the date that I have given. I know this formula is wrong..I just don't know how to properly put it to have it work.

Crystal will not let you put conditions on the summary. You can use one of 3 techniques.

1. A formula to convert the data from the value to a 0 if the row is outiside your desired range and then sum the formula field
if {invoice_hdr.invoice_date} in {?BegInvDate} to {?EndInvDate} then {invoice_line.qty_shipped} else 0
Sum this for formula field to get the total
2. variable formulas to conditionally include or exclude each row when summing. Lots of examples of these in the forum but not my preferred process (although probably the most popular one).
3. Create a Running Total (note running totals and variable formulas do not work in headers, only details and footers)
Select new running Total
name = whatever you want
field to summarize= {invoice_line.qty_shipped}
type =Sum
evaluate = use a formula
{invoice_hdr.invoice_date} in {?BegInvDate} to {?EndInvDate}
reset = never (for a grand total)
Place in report footer

Crystal Reports allows users to graphically design data connection(s) and report layout. In the Database Expert, users can select and link tables from a wide variety of data sources, including spreadsheets, databases, Enterprise business views, and local file system information.
