I have areport for analysis.in the detail section it is suppressing using the following statement.
previous({Subject.Id})=Subject.Id and Previous({Student.Id})={Student.Id}
 
Please explain to me concept used here.
I'm  totally confused with the previous concept.

It is saying if the Subject.ID and Student.ID are currently the same as the record before, then we are not going to print it again. For example:

           Subject.ID       Student.ID
PREV      101                    202

CURR     101                    202

NXT        103                   202

If your data was set similar to this, the previous record is 101/202, the current record is 101/202 and the next record is 103/202. With the suppression set as it is, it will print like this:

           Subject.ID       Student.ID
PREV      101                    202

NXT        103                   202
