I am using CR XI..am new to both this forum and CR.. so please bear with me :)

Currently my report looks like

1 aaa
2 aaa
3 aaa
4 bbb
5 bbb

After I suppress the duplicate records, my report looks like

1 aaa
4 bbb

I want it to be

1 aaa
2 bbb

Can someone please tell me how can I achieve this?

Thanks in advance!

Also, I cannot use grouping

Actually my report is something like this:
# ID   Country   Contact
1 a102 USA       tom wang
2 a102 USA       kim pitt
3 a102 USA       chelsea
4 b104 USA       curtscott
5 b104 USA       rob da silva

and i have to display it as :

1 a102 tom
       kim
       chelsea
2 b104 curt
        rob

each record has a field called contact which can have more than 1 name... but except for the name everything else needs to be suppressed and records number should be distinct for each distinct ID.

HELP!

try to group on Country first then group on # ID and
suppress Country's group header.
